This policy covers briarpatchoutdoors.com and the systems we use to run the shop.
When you buy something. Your name, email address, phone number, and — if the order is being shipped — your delivery address. We keep a record of what you bought and when.
When you create an account. Your email address and a password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in a form we cannot read.
When you enter a tournament.Everything above, plus your date of birth, your shirt size, an emergency contact, and — for anyone under 18 — a parent or guardian's name and phone number. We ask for a date of birth because the liability waiver requires a guardian's consent for minors, and we would rather work that out from a date than from a tick box.
When you contact us. Whatever you put in the form or the email.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, social security numbers or government ID.
We never see your card number. When you pay online, the card fields are served directly by our payment provider and the details go straight to them. They pass back a one-time token standing in for the card, and that token is all our systems ever handle. The same is true at the counter, where the card is read by the payment terminal rather than by our till.
We keep the last four digits, the card type, and the payment provider's transaction reference, so that a receipt can be found and a refund can be made.
We share what is necessary, with the people who need it to complete what you asked for:
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
If you enter one of our shoots, your full name and your scores appear on the public leaderboard for that event. That is the point of a leaderboard, but it is worth saying plainly before you sign up. Nothing else from your registration is published — not your contact details, your date of birth, or your emergency contact.
We may photograph events for our own advertising and social media. The registration form lets you opt out of that, and we will honour it.
We will always send you the messages needed to complete something you asked for — an order confirmation, a receipt, a password reset.
Marketing email and text messages are separate and only go to people who ticked the box asking for them. You can stop those at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or telling us at the counter.
This site stores a small amount of information in your browser: what is in your basket, and whether you are signed in. Both are needed for the site to work at all, and neither is used to track you across other websites.
We do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
Sales records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Tournament registrations and the waivers attached to them are kept as a record of what was agreed. Account details are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete what we are not required to keep. Call the shop or email services@briarpatchoutdoors.com. We are a small shop — a phone call usually sorts it fastest.
This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Under-18s may enter our tournaments with a parent or guardian's consent, which the registration form requires.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be mentioned on the site rather than slipped in quietly.
